Abu Dhabi City Municipality:

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has made a new achievement as the Abu Dhabi Corniche Park has won a coveted international Award. It has been named as the Best Public Park in the world, based on views and reviews of the public about its services, facilities, and serene environment as well as the public health, safety and security standards in place. The Park has raised the Green Flag last March, and Abu Dhabi Emirate has raised the Green Flag on Dalma, Umm Al Amarat, Khalifa Park and Rahba Park.

The result was announced following the poll conducted by the UK-based Green Flag Organisation. 12 countries from three continents and more than 100 qualified sites with stylish quality parks outside the UK have competed for the Award.

The Municipality was thrilled for the achievements made by Abu Dhabi Emirate at all levels. It noted that the recent Award is a clear manifestation of the sound planning and the unlimited support of our leaders for nurturing better recreational facilities and bringing parks at par with the international standards.

The Municipality has the pride of being amongst the leading municipalities worldwide that have succeeded in obtaining the Green Flag Award in several parks in Abu Dhabi and suburban areas. It is a global recognition that Abu Dhabi is implementing all standards contributing to the top recreational facilities compatible with the standards of the Green Flag Award.

The Green Flag is an international award aimed to direct and encourage park management processes and bring them in line with standards of quality services for all community members. They are also with the efforts of protecting and managing the green environment.

About eight key standards are required to obtain the Green Flag Award. They include visitors reception, health facility, public hygiene & maintenance, sustainability, conservation of nature & tradition, social interaction, marketing and management.
