SINGAPORE, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia's Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining (Yasref) has recently shut a gasoline-making unit, prompting it to sell naphtha, multiple traders that participate in the market said on Thursday.

The gasoline-making unit, known as a continuous catalytic reformer, which has a capacity of 84,000 barrels per (bpd), was shut a "few days" ago, the sources said, but it was unclear if the unit has resumed normal operations.

Yasref does not usually sell heavy full-range naphtha as it uses it as a feedstock for the reformer.

Calls to Yasref went unanswered.

The outage is occurring at the same time that India's Reliance Industries has declared force majeure on gasoline supplies this week, driving the Asian gasoline margins up by more than 30 percent in a single day to $11.55 a barrel on Wednesday.
