Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading curator of experiences, has announced the opening of its iconic mosque at Yas Bay, the emirate’s vibrant new waterfront destination on Yas Island, in collaboration with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

Inspired by modern Islamic art, the Yas Masjid features an architecturally unique design within The Residences located at one of the world’s fastest growing leisure and entertainment destinations.

It replaces the traditional dome with horizontal Mashribiya panels which extend across the building to provide a striking and dynamic impression for visitors, said the statement from Miral.

Yas Masjid accommodates around 800 worshipers within two separate prayer halls designed for males and females, it stated.

It is a step towards achieving Miral’s promise for Yas Bay; creating a unique contemporary community within an unparalleled waterside for residents and visitors alike, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
