UAE - Authorities in Sharjah have approved the Covid safety measures implemented at a new mall ahead of its opening.

The emirate's Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management team officials have inspected Al Zahia City Centre.

Encompassing over 136,200sqm of gross leasable space, the mall is set to open this month.

Safety measures at the mall include provision of hand sanitisation devices across; thermal cameras at entrances; and bright floor stickers and signages that encourage social distancing.

The mall's management has inked deals with security authorities to ensure congestion-free entrance and exit points.

According to Majid Al Futtaim, Al Zahia City Centre features social, theatre and sports hubs. It will boast professional and educational workspaces. "Everything will be centred around a grand plaza, offering access to indoor and outdoor restaurants, kids play areas, and an art zone," the operator had said.

Al Zahia, a premier lifestyle destination, is part of a "strategic partnership" between Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Sharjah Asset Management. Upon completion by 2023, it will include a total of 3,700 homes.
