KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Thursday registered 825 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 97,824, the country’s health ministry said in a statement carried by Kuwait News Agency.

The ministry announced four more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19, raising the total number of virus-related fatalities in the country to 575.

There are 94 patients, out of 9,338 actives cases, who are receiving the necessary treatment in intensive care units, according to the statement.

The ministry also said that it carried out 5,968 tests over the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of COVID-19 examinations in the country to 695,556 so far.

Earlier in the day, the health ministry reported that 724 more patients have recovered from the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 87,911.
