“The consignment follows directives from His Majesty King Hamad,” said the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.

The operation will be overseen by His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

He hailed the steadfast stance of Bahrain’s leadership, government and people, towards friendly peoples and countries in times of adversity.

He noted that His Majesty is keen to provide aid and assistance to all countries based on fraternal and human ties, stressing the historic relations between Bahrain and Sudan.

He affirmed that the foundation supervises the implementation of the directives of His Majesty.

Shaikh Nasser praised the great support the foundation enjoys from the government headed by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the continuous support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

The foundation’s secretary general Dr Mustafa Al Sayed said it had prepared an urgent relief shipment containing medical and relief material.
