Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new passenger terminal will deliver a more comfortable travel experience for passengers with reduced mobility.

This was announced by the Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) yesterday, as it marked International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The new terminal will feature dedicated facilities and services to ensure greater accessibility and comfort.

“BIA caters to diverse passengers’ needs and expectations and we consider it our responsibility to ensure that all of them enjoy a hassle-free travel experience and the same high levels of service,” said BAC CEO Mohamed Al Binfalah.

This includes better access at check-in counters, baggage claim and information desks, dedicated e-gates in the arrivals and departures areas, private toilets and a dedicated lower counter at immigration control.

The new terminal is set to open in March and will increase the airport’s annual passenger capacity from nine million to 14m.
