Heavy trucks weighing over 3,000kg are banned on roads during the peak hours from 6.30am to 8am and from 2pm to 3 pm, during Ramadan.

The General Directorate of Traffic announced the ban which apply to trailers as well as construction and agricultural vehicles, and special use vehicles exceeding 3,000kg.

The ban covers all roads, except Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Highway, from the traffic lights at Sitra industrial zone to Alba interchange in both directions.

It will also apply to King Hamad Highway, from Alba Interchange to Durrat Al Bahrain, in addition to Dry Rock Highway, from the signal at the Khalifa Bin Salman Causeway to Asry, and the zone of the Khalifa Bin Salman Port.

All companies, enterprises and drivers were urged to comply with the new timings and co-operate with the traffic police.
