Cairo –  The state-run Cotton & Textile Industries Holding Co. signed a contract with Gama Construction for the establishment of a new spinning factory in El-Mahalla El-Kubra.

The new plant, set to be the world’s largest spinning factory, will be built over an area of 62,500 square metres (sqm), according to a statement by the Ministry of Public Business Sector on Thursday.

The construction works of the plant are expected to take 14 months for completion at an estimated cost of EGP 780 million.

The factory is planned to have an average output capacity of 30 tonnes of yarn per day.
