Deloitte has signed the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Declaration, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to sustainability in the Middle East and in further supporting their clients as they move towards using sustainable finance in their operations.

The Declaration is led by Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and serves as a commitment to collaborating with other prominent public and private entities in support of the UAE’s Vision 2030 and the UAE Green Agenda. ADGM, along with its stakeholders, aims to develop a sustainable finance ecosystem with a diversity of institutions, product offerings and services to support capital formation and deployment and create a vibrant marketplace that boosts the availability of financing to achieve sustainability goals.

“Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability are critical pillars in everything we do at Deloitte and we are honored to become official signatories to the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Declaration, supporting the committee in achieving its goals and collaborating to create a framework for fostering and integrating green and sustainable investments”, said Mutasem Dajani, CEO, Deloitte Middle East.

“Key to developing a vibrant sustainable finance hub is fostering cooperation and encouraging dialogue between local and international stakeholders, which includes UAE authorities, commercial entities and leading industry standard bearers. Deloitte as a new signatory of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Declaration, in concert with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the UAE Central Bank and the Securities and Commodities Authority, reaffirms our collective commitment to a cause whose time has come,” said Mark Cutis, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Global Market Authority.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our full support and sustainable finance expertise to the region, along with our global Deloitte network. This will provide innovative concepts and ideas to leverage green finance solutions to organisations in the United Arab Emirates through their sustainability drive, further supporting the government’s ambition,” said Damian Regan, Deloitte Middle East Assurance Leader for Sustainability.

Deloitte joins the panel of 46 public and private sector signatories who have committed to the Declaration since its launch at the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Forum (ADSFF), hosted by ADGM and that took place during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The 2022 edition of ADSFF is expected to witness the addition of further signatories, thus accelerating the mobilisation of private capital towards low-carbon, environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient investments.
