Dubai : The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, celebrated the “Flag Day’ at its premises in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in addition to the medical districts, hospitals, health centers, and other MoHAP’s affiliated facilities.

The Flag Day marks the anniversary of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s assumption of office.

On this day, the UAE flag was raised at MoHAP premises and all affiliated facilities with the national anthem playing in the background.

In an atmosphere overwhelmed by feelings of belonging for the homeland and its wise leadership, MoHAP Assistant Undersecretaries and employees stood united around the nation’s flag underling that the UAE flag remains immortal in conscience and workplaces.

A National Occasion to Reaffirm Allegiance

On this occasion, HE Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, the Minister of Health: “The UAE Flag Day is a national occasion to remember the efforts of the founder of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed (may Allah rest his soul in peace) and to reaffirm our allegiance to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE, with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates and their Crown Princes .”

“Also, this day is a symbol of the nation’s unity and solidarity and an opportunity to instill patriotism and allegiance in the future generations, and to remind all of us of a day when the UAE was founded and united,” added Al Owais.

An Eagerly Awaited Annual Event

Concluding his remarks, Al Owais said that the Flag Day initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has become an eagerly-awaited annual event to express love and appreciation for the homeland and wise leadership, by standing united around the UAE flag, the symbol of unity and belonging and working hard to keep the flag flying.

Several activities were held at MoHAP premises including Emirates traditional dance (Al Youlah), and national songs and shows. While the ministry premises in Abu Dhabi and other affiliated facilities celebrated by raising the UAE flag and playing national anthems, besides other recreational and heritage activities.
