H.E. Rashed Abdul Karim Al Balooshi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), today (Wednesday, October 30, 2019) led the inauguration of the much anticipated 11th International Real Estate & Investment Show (IREIS) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.  The leading show, the only real estate event in Abu Dhabi specialized to target investors and consumers rather than trade visitors, will run until Friday, November 1, 2019.

ADDED along with the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM) and the Abu Dhabi Airport Free Zone (ADAFZ) are the top government exhibitors of this year’s edition of IREIS. During the three-day event, the leading government entities and other local and global public and private organizations will showcase their services, recent projects, and initiatives designed to help drive the real estate sector in Abu Dhabi and stimulate value-added investment opportunities.

Commenting on DPM’s participation, H.E. Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi, Acting Executive Director, Real Estates Sector at DPM, said: “Our participation in the International Real Estate and Investment Show (IREIS 2019) is in line with our strategy to advance the Abu Dhabi real estate sector and raise awareness of its many strengths and leading nature, both regionally and internationally.”

“DPM's participation in IREIS will be themed around providing essential information for investors, real estate developers and landowners. We are aiming to reach out to our stakeholders and advance the transparency of Abu Dhabi’s real estate’s business environment,” he added.

H.E concluded: “For DPM, participating in IREIS is an opportunity to exchange experiences and build strong partnerships with all the stakeholders involved in the development of the real estate sector. This will help us all to enhance our global competitiveness through innovative and distinctive projects that support a clear business development strategy served by stable policies and a clear vision for the future of Abu Dhabi."

A huge crowd of investors, industry experts, professionals, stakeholders, and visitors from all corners of the globe attended the event’s opening day to explore the local and international property and investment markets. The exhibition will enable its visitors to look at a wide spectrum of available properties, different investment options, financing sources, consultations and sorting out legal queries, all under one roof. The annual event will also provide consumers from around the world with the best options for investment and leading insights into the market trends.

For his part, Antoine Georges, Managing Director, Dome Exhibitions, organizer of IREIS, said: “The 11th edition is an exciting year for us at Dome Exhibitions. Apart from a full agenda, the 2019 exhibition has also new segments focusing on the free zones, innovations, and startups to further boost the business environment and investment opportunities in the emirate. Through these latest segments and more, we seek to attract more regional and international investors to Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, we are delighted to have H.E. Al Balooshi leading the opening ceremony of this year’s event. We appreciate his presence as well as the participation of ADDED, DPM, and ADAFZ, proving once again the significant role of IREIS in the property sector. The response to the latest edition is overwhelming and we look forward to welcoming more visitors in the coming days.”

Several associated events will be staged as part of IREIS 2019. These include the first-of-its-kind ‘World Free Zone Expo (WFZE) Pavilion,’ which will serve as a platform to connect free zones with onshore and offshore companies and business startups; the ‘Startup Pavilion,’ a new initiative launched to support startups; the ‘Abu Dhabi Investment Conference 2019,’ a specialized investment conference that will focus on current investment trends and potential opportunities; and the ‘International Residency and Citizenship Expo,’ which will provide expert advice and guidance for individuals exploring citizenship and residency opportunities, including those available via investment activity.

The ‘Innovation Hub Awards 2019’ to be held under the theme ‘Creating Innovative Sustainable Environment in Investments’ will also take place to highlight innovative ideas across four categories of the environment, sustainable future, automation, and investments.

IREIS 2019 is supported by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ADCCI) and some high-profile private companies such as the Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Gulf Properties, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), and Aldar Properties, to name a few.
