Dubai: The fourth edition of the Future Manufacturing & Trade Summit, hosted under the patronage of His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy & Industry, by Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of Dubai Economy, in collaboration with Expo Trade Middle East, will be held 10-11 September 2019 at the Intercontinental Festival City, Dubai. The summit is aimed to support the development of the industrial sector in the UAE and promote exports of local companies because of their role in enabling growth in Dubai and the UAE.

The two-day event will host over 1,000 senior professionals from operations, supply chain and logistics, IT, and maintenance within the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing contributes 9.2% of Dubai’s GDP and in the first quarter of 2019, there was a 30% increase in Dubai’s direct exports over the same period of 2018, while re-exports increased by 7%.

The conference will host 50 of the globally and regionally renowned leaders in the manufacturing sector to explore the most pertinent and topical issues faced within this industry. Dr. Majida Al Azazi, Chief Executive Officer, Sandstorm Automotive Factory, recognized as the first to manufacture 4WD vehicle here in the UAE; Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Managing Director, Dubai Science Park; Ismail Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer, Strata Manufacturing; Mansoor Janahi, Chief Executive Officer, TS&S Group – Mubadala Development Company, Bernhard Randerath, Vice President Design, Engineering and Innovation, Etihad Airways Engineering and Dr. Andreas Schwer, Chief Executive Officer, Saudi Arabian Military Industries will be among the speakers and panelists.

In addition to 16 presentations on the state of the industry, the summit agenda will feature six panel discussions on topics focusing on advanced manufacturing and production, deciphering the benefits of IoT (internet of Things), operational excellence & lean strategies, the future manufacturing workforce and e-commerce transforming the future of logistics.

Industry experts including Khaled Elzoghby, Manufacturing & Technical Director, Al Islami Foods; Khalid Jalal, Senior Group ICT Manager, GARMCO – Bahrain and Tamer Hamed, Director IT, Ducab will participate in an in-depth discussion on deciphering the benefits of IoT. They will discuss where the future of manufacturing using IoT solutions is headed and understanding the various approaches and principles to be adopted while integrating the digital factory.

The event will also host a side exhibition with leading technology and service providers to showcase their latest products that support the growing manufacturing market in the region.
