Abu Dhabi, UAE:  National Geographic Abu Dhabi announced today a new short documentary film series focused on Sharjah’s biodiversity, in partnership with Sharjah Government Media Bureau and Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.

Through the series, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Council, will take viewers on a journey around the Emirates’ unique and preserved areas under protected acts. He will highlight major environmental conservation initiatives launched by the Emirate over the years under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The National Geographic Abu Dhabi short film series consists of eight episodes of about three minutes each. Each episode follows Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and a team of experts as they focus on one aspect of the unique flora and fauna species and habitat of Sharjah, from turtles to crabs, and from the Wasit Wetland to Al Hefaiyah Mountain and Al Dhulaimah regions.
