• Programme aims to enhance values of mutual understanding and multiculturalism

Dubai: ENOC Group’s second batch of three female Emirati employees completed the four-week academic winter programme at Al Maktoum College of Higher Education.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Marryat Hall in Dundee and was attended by H.E Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC, H.H Mirza Al Sayegh, Director General, Office of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Al Maktoum College Board of Directors and HE Sulaiman Hamid Almazroui, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates and Ian Borthwick, Dundee’s Lord Provost.

Shaikha Al Shamsi, Shirin Al Maazmi and Alia Al Saleh attended this year’s winter academic exchange programme, where they took part in seminars, guest lectures, discussions and debates. The programme also consisted of off-site trips to expand the horizon of learning for the students.

In four weeks, students learn about diverse subjects including civilizational dialogue, Scottish history and culture, leadership, management and Scottish politics.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC, said: “At ENOC, women are at the core of our organisation. We provide various on-the-job training and academic initiatives to develop professional and personal skills of our female Emirati employees. Our young Emirati talents are the business leaders of tomorrow and we remain committed to provide the necessary tools, trainings and opportunities to further enhance their skills.”

The first batch of ENOC employees joined Al Maktoum College’s academic exchange programme in 2018.

In efforts to elevate human capital, ENOC Group has partnered with many universities including Heriot Watt University, British University in Dubai (BUiD) and Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) to upskill Emirati talent.

As a National Oil Company ENOC has a strong focus towards its Emirati employees. ENOC has already achieved 40 per cent Emiratisation and plans to achieve 50 per cent by 2021, in line with the UAE’s plans to support UAE nationals at the workforce.
