United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council (ADBWC) in the Crescent Building at UAEU campus.
The MoU was signed by Professor Ghaleb Al Hadrami, UAEU Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, on behalf of H.E. Professor Mohammed Albaili, UAEU Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Huda Al Matroushi, Board Member of ADBWC, on behalf of H.E. Mariam Al Rumaithi, ADBWC Chairwoman.
The aim of the agreement is to establish collaboration between the two parties to offer an academic leadership program for women and enhances their capacities to participate in society’s development and economic activities.
H.E. Prof. Mohammed Albaili, UAEU Vice Chancellor, said that this cooperation with ADBWC is in line with the university's vision, strategy and its keenness to enhance joint efforts and activate cooperation with local and international institutions, as UAEU possesses innovative, high standard research capacities.
“This MoU aims to promote women’s role in different fields through designing and running programs and activities that help prepare UAEU female students to participate in the development of the UAE society, as women are key partners in achieving UAE’s sustainable development,” explained H.E. Prof. Albaili.
“UAEU, the University of the Future, always seeks to employ research in innovation, qualifying competencies, and providing consultation in line with the UAE national agenda and its 2021 vision.”
H.E. Mariam Al Rumaithi, stated that the council has been able to strengthen cooperation with several UAE’s educational institutions, stemmed from its keenness to offer opportunities to develop women’s economic knowledge and enable female university students and alumni to take advantage of training programs and workshops in the areas of investment, trade and economic development.
“These efforts have helped enhance women’s abilities to contribute to UAE’s development, and promoted entrepreneurship culture among them, while enabling them to be involved in the various economic activities organized by ADBWC,” added H.E. Al Rumaithi.
She pointed out that UAE’s women, while having their university education have demonstrated their leadership in the fields of entrepreneurship and SMEs, showcasing innovative project ideas. This is what we at ADBWC look forward to achieving in line with UAE's vision to prepare national women cadres, develop their entrepreneurial capacities and instill the culture and concepts of entrepreneurship among future pioneers who are committed to developing sustainable, innovative, knowledge-based economic development.
