Dubai: Etisalat Information Services announced its digital sponsorship of the third Unity Run, a community event celebrating the diversity of the UAE and raises awareness of people of determination.

The third edition of Unity Run saw people from all walks of life come together for a 3km walk and 10km run on 16 th November in Dubai Silicon Oasis. Etisalat Information Services is sponsoring this annual event through its platform connect.ae, a hyperlocal search engine.

Rashid Al Naqbi, General Manager, Etisalat Information Services, said: “We are honoured to be the official digital marketing sponsors of the Unity Run, a leading community event in the UAE that supports people of determination and promoting the cause of inclusiveness in all areas of society.

“This association with the Unity Run, now on its third year, is aligned with our own values at Etisalat Information Services to support inclusiveness for all residents of the UAE and all areas of life. We look forward to continue supporting this worthy cause in the future.”

Ruth Dickinson, Event Director, Emirates NBD Unity Run, said: “ The Emirates NBD Unity Run is a fun family event that actively encourages people of determination to participate. The event promotes inclusion and accessibility for people of all abilities. As well as promoting awareness of the benefits of total inclusion in all areas of life for people of determination, the Emirates NBD Unity Run supports two exceptional centres of excellence, Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities and Senses Residential and Day Care Centre, two centres of excellence in the nurturing and development of children and young people of determination.

Unity Run is under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination, and organised under the umbrella of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Community Sports Initiative.

Participants were invited to enter a 3 km fun run/walk or the un-timed 10km. People of determination and their ‘buddies’ were encouraged to participate and join in the carnival atmosphere as everyone celebrates unity in diversity in the UAE.
