ABU DHABI: Image Nation Abu Dhabi, one of the leading media and entertainment companies in the Middle East, will release feature comedy Shabab Sheyab in cinemas across the UAE on November 22, 2018, with the full trailer available now.

Directed and written by Yasir Al-Yasiri, the family-friendly movie follows four elderly friends (featuring prominent GCC actors: Saad Al Faraj, Marei Al Halian and Mansoor Al Feeli, alongside Syrian star Salloum Haddad) living in a senior citizens home. When one of them inherits a large fortune, the friends escape for a life-changing adventure in Dubai, encouraged by their doctor and nurse, played by Kuwaiti stars Laila Abdullah and Fouad Ali.

Shabab Sheyab is a true celebration of family and friendship, and follows a journey of self-discovery that inspires audiences to make the most of each day,” says Yasir Al-Yasiri. “With a stellar cast and crew including some of the region’s most beloved actors, the movie tells a UAE story – highlighting iconic locations like Dubai Mall and Atlantis The Palm – with universally relatable themes.”

“Arabic content for local audiences is at the heart of what we do at Image Nation, and Shabab Sheyab is another outstanding example of what we can create here in the region with our talented community of storytellers, filmmakers and creatives,” says Ben Ross, Chief Content Officer at Image Nation Abu Dhabi. “Image Nation offers a uniquely UAE perspective to the world, reflects the nation’s culture and promotes local voices through our diverse projects. We look forward to sharing Shabab Sheyab with the world on November 22.”

Shabab Sheyab premiered at the prestigious Palm Springs International Film Festival in January 2018 to glowing reviews. The star-studded UAE premiere will take place at Atlantis The Palm on November 17.

Image Nation is the studio behind Shabab Sheyab, and the film is produced by Rami Yasin’s Breakout Films and Starship Entertainment - a partnership between Al Yasiri and Al Feeli. Tanweer Films is distributing the film across the MENA region.

The cast includes: Salloum Haddad, the ‘elder statesman’ of regional acting; prominent Kuwaiti actor Saad Al Faraj; popular Emirati star Marei Al Halian; and the beloved Mansoor Al Feeli, who also served as Executive Producer. Popular Kuwaiti actor Fouad Ali and actress/model Laila Abdullah also star.
