Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Dubai: The Scientific Committee of the ‘Aqdar World Summit’ held a meeting at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai to discuss the agenda of the 2nd edition, which is being held under the patronage of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on (26-28) November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Abdullah Al Raisi, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of Aqdar World Summit and attended by H.E. Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, Dr. Expert Ibrahim Al Dabal, General Coordinator of Aqdar World Summit and Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of the Aqdar World Summit, and representatives from a number of local and international associations.

Held under the theme “Role of Human Empowerment in Developing Stable Societies: Sustainable Development”, the 2nd edition will feature 7 main sessions that are inspired from the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The scientific committee announced that the 1st session will be dedicated to the Late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (Peace Be Upon Him), commemorating his key teachings which focused on developing, educating and equipping the human race with the knowledge and skills to build a safe, promising and prosperous nation.

While the second session will feature ‘Quality Education’, the third will be entitled ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’ the forth session will discuss ‘Gender Equality: Tolerance’. The fifth session features ‘Partnerships for the Goals’, the sixth session tackles the topic of ‘Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure’ and finally the seventh session will discuss ‘Decent work and economic growth’.

 Meanwhile, an exhibition running parallel to the conference will feature a number of activities such as scientific poster presentations, specialized workshops and display of latest technologies and strategies currently implemented in various fields by government and private entities. Aqdar World Summit is one of the most important community related events held locally and internationally, which is specifically concerned with discussing issues of high importance for the next generation and looks at ways to empower individuals in different sectors of our society. Additionally, the summit aims to develop the minds of young people and raise awareness about complicated societal issues in order to inspire them to play an active and responsible role in their societies and nations.
