Dubai, UAE – Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the popular hotel-apartment among tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, recently hosted the participants of 10th Fazza Wheelchair Basketball International Championship from May 4th to May 11th 2018.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), the eight-team competition was organized and supervised by the Dubai Club for People of Determination with the support of their strategic partners such as Dubai Sports Council and the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare (GAYSW) and governed by International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF).
Alongside hosts UAE, the participating countries were Morocco, Chinese Taipei, Turkey, Japan, South Africa, Thailand and Korea.

Wheelchair basketball was initially developed as a form of rehabilitation and has evolved into a fast-paced, chair-knocking Paralympic sport. It is a type of team sport that encourages communication between the players, improving one’s social skills and also helps increase confidence.
The aim of organizing such events is to inspire People of Determination to lead an active lifestyle and discover new talents for professional sports. It is also a way to meet new people and gain a more positive outlook on life.
