Cairo: Vigo Video, the leading live broadcast app in the Middle East, has partnered with Egyptian nonprofit organization Tawasol to launch a charity campaign on its platform, seeking to support underprivileged children as the country celebrates the holy month of Ramadan.

The charity campaign #RightToSchool will run on Vigo Video from 25 May to 31 May. During the campaign period, Vigo Video will contribute an amount to the charity campaign for every broadcaster who participates by shooting a video with the hashtag and a specially-designed sticker, which uses a small blackboard background effect reflecting a schoolroom to encourage users in the live streaming rooms to be creative. Also, users can contribute a donation to Tawasol by simply sending virtual gifts to broadcasters on Vigo Video. In addition to that, Vigo Video will donate an amount for each new download of the Vigo Video app during this period.

Tawasol was founded in 2008 to provide free high-quality education to children of slum areas without formal settlements in Cairo, who never attended school due to their families' social and economic conditions. Its educational program offers an interactive curriculum that is certified by the Egyptian Ministry of Education. In addition, it provides handicraft training to the students and the women in the area, which equips them with an additional skill and income source. Tawasol also provides free high quality health care services and treatments for residents in the area.

Vigo Video broadcasters have also shot a short film to promote the purpose of this charity campaign with Tawasol. Several broadcasters called on their audience to participate in helping underprivileged children enter school, including the top Egypt female anchor and charity ambassador for this campaign, Nana.

Tawasol co-founder Yasmina Abou Youssef said: “The holy month of Ramadan is the best occasion for the Muslim world to do good deeds and raise awareness on how to help underprivileged people in Egypt and many other Arab countries. I am glad that Vigo Video has partnered with us to let more people know about what’s happening and show love for the needy.”
