• Activities include complimentary massages, terrarium workshops, golf swing lessons, family memory book making and more

Dubai: This autumn, Westin Hotels & Resorts in the UAE is inviting guests, families and professionals to discover the importance of wellbeing by taking time out for themselves and their families inside five rejuvenating pop up retreats from October 10 to November 24 2019.

Appearing in community spaces and Westin Hotels & Resorts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi the dome will offer meaningful experiences designed for the whole family to reclaim time for their own wellbeing. Centered around Westin’s six pillars – Eat Well, Sleep Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well and Play Well – the public will be able to book some well-needed ‘me’ time with complimentary massages, juicing mixology and golf swing lessons, or enhance family bonding with scrapbook-making and terrarium workshops. Guests will be encouraged to fully disconnect by putting their phones and devices to one side and immerse themselves in these wellness experiences.

“Wellness has become an essential part of a travel experience and our guests are looking for ways to integrate their daily self-care routine while away from home. As a brand routed in wellness, Westin empowers you to prioritize your own well-being with programs that encourage guests to not just ‘get up’ in the morning but to ‘rise’. The pop-up wellness dome is a haven of wellbeing and houses our principles of how to eat, sleep, move, play and work well” said Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President Premium & Select Brands at Marriott International, Middle East & Africa.

Travelers today seek authentic experiences that fulfill inner goals whilst they work or play. According to the 2018 Global Wellness Economy Monitor, the global wellness industry grew 12.8 percent in two years, from a $3.7 trillion market in 2015 to $4.2 trillion in 2017, which totals to more than double the 3.2 percent growth rate for tourism overall.

“Today’s over-scheduled and always-on culture has spurred people to look for ways to disconnect during the day. Following our #JOMO campaign earlier this year where we encouraged people to feel the ‘joy of missing out’, the wellness dome will encourage guests to immerse themselves in an activity and feel the joy of being well,” added Sandra.

The Westin Wellness Dome will appear in five locations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi over six weeks. Guests will have the opportunity to win a rejuvenating stay at the Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Mauritius, by capturing their dome experience and uploading it to social media by using #WestinWellnessDome.
