Second phase of training program 'Eidaad' launched in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has launched the second phase of the national education-related training program -Eidaad- for penultimate year students who are studying in public and private higher education institutions.

"The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation inaugurates the second phase of the national education-related training program - Eidaad-, with a full academic year duration, in cooperation with the Petroleum Development Oman. The program targets penultimate year students studying in public and private higher education institutions," the Oman News Agency (ONA), said in a statement.

Her Excellency Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, said in a statement that the - Eidaad- program is an ambitious national program that works to prepare national competencies with dynamic capabilities and skills that help trainees compete in the labour market.

The program provides systematic and sufficient training opportunities for university education students on the one hand, and provides higher education institutions with feedback on the knowledge and skills they need to include in their study programmes.

The inauguration included the signing of a number of cooperation protocols between the industrial and academic sectors aimed at supporting the plans of the -Eidaad- program to link the two sectors, training students of private higher education institutions and building their capacities.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation also signed a cooperation agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), company to fund a number of scholarships in the vocational diploma track in vocational colleges, according to which the company will finance 100 scholarships for students of the Sultanate’s schools for the current academic year 2020/2021.
