RIYADH — The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced on Sunday a set of new requirements related to delivery orders to the beneficiaries in a healthy manner.

The CITC said that it would start monitoring violations after asking delivery applications to comply with the requirements within 30 days from the date of issuing the terms.

The requirements are: Not to transport foods and drinks that are not tightly wrapped, not to transport foodstuffs that can be opened, and to prevent dealing with the restaurants and places that violate health requirements that are approved by the concerned authorities.

The authority warned that it will cancel the registration of delivery apps if these regulations are violated, and in accordance with the systems of protecting the rights of beneficiaries, which comply with the health conditions for home delivery services issued by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.

The CITC noted that it would follow up on the delivery apps as soon as the requirements are implemented, and it will apply legal penalties on those who violate the providing delivery services instructions through the electronic platforms.

The procedures have been instituted due to the keenness to adhere to the service provision guidelines and to ensure the protection of the beneficiaries’ rights.
