ArabFinance: The Egyptian flag carrier EgyptAir activated a baggage tracking service for all its passengers as of August 31st, Ahram Gate reported.

The new service is available through EGYPTAIR mobile app on Android and IOS systems.

EgyptAir noted that the move is part of the development plan by the world's largest global airline alliance Star Alliance, with a goal to be fully implemented by 2022.

The airline’s customers can track their baggage on the app by entering QR Codes or the passenger baggage number along with the flight number once they arrive at their destinations.

The company, meanwhile, will operate 30 international and domestic flights transporting 3,300 travelers on September 1st.

Arrivals at four airports in Egypt will be able to test for COVID-19 before entering the cities as of today, in line with the new terms previously announced for foreign and Egyptian passengers.
