The Ras Al Khaimah Police has attended over 8,100 calls during the Eid-Al-Fitr holiday.

Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, General Commander of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, said they have professionally responded to all these calls over the period from May 30 to June 08.

"All the calls have been attended to in a professional way and in a record time as per the strategy of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) which is aimed to boost the index of safety and security and enhance public trust."

The calls attended to spanned reports on road accidents, traffic snarls, and inquiries, he added.

"The RAK Police has deployed 75 traffic and security patrols all over the emirate to ensure public safety and security during the Eid Al Fitr holiday," he added.

Maj-Gen Nuaimi said the patrols were mainly covering tourist places, parks, markets residential areas, and public gatherings. "Over 130,000 surveillance cameras helped in monitoring remote areas of the emirate. Security patrols and staff officers and individuals were deployed to watch over the festivals and prevent any illegal practices, mainly fireworks," he added.
