KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has launched a huge tender for the construction of a gas pipeline from the northern part of the country to Mina Ahmadi Refinery, reports Al-Anba daily.

Informed sources said 12 international contractors have been qualified to participate in the project and submit their bids on or before Nov 6.

They disclosed that KOC will hold a preliminary meeting with the contractors on Sept 18, followed by closing the doors for receiving inquiries about the project on Oct 4. They added that among the companies invited to the project are Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Engineering and Construction, Larsen & Toubro, GGC, Saipem, Daelim, Samsung Engineering, SK Engineering and Construction, and Spanish Technicas Reunidas.

The pipeline will be 150 kilometers long and 48 inches in diameter, while the construction scope of the project includes a compressor plant.
