Public urged to abide by Covid rules in Bahrain

Bahrain - A leading medical professional has urged full adherence to precautionary and preventive measures put in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) emergency medicine consultant Dr Jehad bin Rajab stressed the importance of joint community action to support the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19 and overcome the pandemic.

He highlighted national efforts to combat the pandemic and protect public health, which earned Bahrain international praise.

“The current stage requires all members of society to continue to adhere resolutely to all measures set by the national medical team,” Dr Rajab said, cautioning against laxity and complacency in implementing the necessary health instructions and guidelines.

He warned against gatherings which, he said, represent the main cause of transmitting infections, adding that some people are asymptomatic which increases the risks of infection.

Dr Rajab also stressed the importance of protecting health and safety during the Ashoora season and restricting rituals to live-streaming under this year’s circumstances.
