Dubai-headquartered retail and commercial property developer Majid Al Futtaim announced on Monday that it has awarded a four-year contract to global infrastructure consulting firm AECOM to provide lead consultancy services for its flagship Mall of Saudi development.

The project is set to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2021, the company said in a press statement.

It said AECOM will deliver Lead Design Consultancy for pre-contract and post contract construction supervision for Mall of Saudi, which is expected to house over 600 stores across 300,000 square metres gross leasable area (GLA).

Mall of Saudi is the retail component of the company's 16 billion Saudi riyal ($4.3 billion) Riyadh North master-planned development that includes nine hotels and branded residences with 2,000 keys, 600 retail stores, and the largest ski slope and snow park in the Middle East.
