Dubai, UAE: As the ADIPEC Virtual Strategic Conference commences, leading business advisory Trajan Consulting has announced a new bespoke Fintech, AI and Agile division for the GCC.

A long-established name in the regional Oil & Gas sector, Trajan Consulting specialises in intense methodologies focused on improving processes.

“We offer an integrated approach to projects, bringing together the required disciplines, project managers and specialists,” explained Catherine Granger, Co-Founder, Trajan Consulting. “This new bespoke Fintech, AI and Agile division aims to assist the heads of Oil & Gas companies eliminate all non-value-added activities and waste.”

The firm has been operating across the Middle East since 2008, notably working for ADNOC in Abu Dhabi, ENOC in Dubai, and BP in Dubai and London.

“People often ask us if Dubai is still a buoyant market within Oil & Gas and it definitely is – even though the sector has taken a hit because of Covid-19,” commented Granger. “But with the shift to a low carbon world, the need for the hydrocarbons sector to transform is becoming a prominent talking point. Indeed, many companies are now changing their offering to consider zero net efficiency and carbon reduction, installing systems such as methane measurement.”

She added: “For example, BP aims to install methane measurement at all its existing major oil and gas processing sites by 2023, publish the data, and then drive a 50% reduction in methane intensity of its operations.”

The British oil giant’s new strategy to be a ‘Net Zero’ emissions company by 2050 or sooner is one of the most ambitious climate pledges yet made by an oil major. Bernard Looney, CEO of BP, will be a key speaker at the ADIPEC Virtual Strategic Conference (9-12 November 2020). He will discuss how energy companies are future-proofing their business operations.

Granger stressed that before setting a Net Zero target, it is imperative that other businesses in the region develop a clear road map of the actions that will reduce their own emissions as far as possible in the first instance.

“Announcing a Net Zero target without a clear strategic plan in place risks damaging your green credentials more than enhancing them,” she said.
