Dubai: In line with its keenness to foster a culture of innovation and creativity to improve workflow and the services provided to customers, and achieve the happiness of the UAE society, the Ministry of Finance (MoF), participated in the UAE Hackathon 3.0 themed ‘Data for Happiness and Well-being' organised by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in collaboration with the National Program for Happiness and Wellbeing. The Hackathon is taking place within the UAE Innovation Month activities.
H.E. Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of MoF, stressed the importance of participating in this innovative competition that aims to find creative solutions and ideas, and contributes to building the future of the UAE by following a forward-looking vision that adopts global trends and technologies, and encourages modern innovations and creative ideas.
H.E said: “The Ministry of Finance works in accordance with the directives of our wise leadership to serve all segments of society by adopting advanced and easy technologies that meet their aspirations. The ministry also works on developing innovative initiatives and ideas that contribute to raising the level of happiness and prosperity in society, and achieving sustainable development in the UAE.”
The Ministry’s participation in Hackathon 3.0 aimed to tackle the challenges around ‘open data’, where they, alongside a large group of students and financial professionals, gathered the largest possible number of innovative ideas. The Ministry of Finance displays its open data on its website, in detail, according to the approved financial forms and reports.
The UAE Hackathon aims to enhance competencies, enable knowledge-sharing and innovation, and foresee the future in data. It also works to create a multilateral partnership between the government sector, national programs, universities, the private sector, Expo 2020, individuals and several international organizations.
