JEDDAH — Muslim World League and Umm Al-Qura University on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase collaboration between the two entities. The MoU was signed by Muhammad Issa, MWL secretary general, and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Bafail, president of Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

Makkah Emir Khalid Al-Faisal was present during the signing ceremony.

The agreement aims at building an international exhibition in Makkah that serves as a documented historic presentation on the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the beauty of the Islamic civilization. It will introduce people to the bright reality of Islam and the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

The Kingdom has always made efforts in supporting the Islamic culture, and it will utilize the latest techniques for such a project. The responsibility was given to Wadi Makkah Company to work on developing and managing the project.

MWL hopes that this exhibition will be an opportunity to show the world that Islamic culture is about moderation and balance in everything. Besides, it will promote the concepts of cultural dialogue and communication by linking them to the Islamic civilization.
