The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) has instructed all local and foreign lenders in the country to provide customers with SMSes free of charge, according to local newswire, KUNA.
Dr Mohammad Al-Hashel, the Governor of CBK, said that the service will be up and running on 16 September 2018 and is part of plans to provide customers with top notch banking services as well as helping banks to deal with any potential cyber threats.
The development also provides surveillance services, assuring clients of fool proof security given the alarming rise in banking fraud, added Al-Hashel.
