The Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, discussed with the Jordanian Minister of Public Works and Housing, Yahya Al-Kasabi, cooperation in the housing and construction sector under the tripartite cooperation between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt. 

Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Planning, told Zawya Projects that the Minister invited Jordanian investments in different regions of Iraq, and especially in the housing sector. 

The minister, the spokesperson said, underlined that there are 50 stalled residential complexes all over Iraq financed from the general budget, and called on Jordanian investors and banks to take advantage of the investment opportunity. 

Al-Hindawi added that the minister highlighted large projects including the Basra desalination project, the Al-Bidaa Canal project, the elevated train project, all of which represent promising investment opportunities in Iraq. 

He noted that the Jordanian minister expressed his country's readiness to provide backing to the efforts of the Iraqi government in the housing sector and for project financing.
