Cairo: IBM has announced the appointment of a new general manager for its Egypt division.

The Armonk, New York-based tech firm has appointed Wael Abdoush as its country general manager for Egypt, succeeding Amr Talaat who had served the company since 1988 and who has been appointed as minister of communications and information technology in the most recent cabinet reshuffle.

Prior to the appointment, Abdoush was director of server solution sales for the Middle East and Africa at IBM.
