Exclusive on ground activations by Twitter

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – More than 165 million movie-related Tweets were posted on Twitter in the year 2015 (source). Whether it’s the first day of filming or the red carpet premiere, Twitter has become the best way to follow the film industry and find out more about the movies people love.

The 13th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) kicks off next week, and this year, Twitter enables fans to get closer to the action than ever before through various on ground activations.

From the 7th till the 14th of December, DIFF will be hosting several activities on Twitter including:

●     Periscope

○     The festival’s opening night will be a featured video on Periscope, Twitter’s video live streaming application, globally

○     Fans will be able to enjoy higher quality videos through Periscope Producer. Periscope Producer, a recent feature added to Periscope, will enable DIFF to air the events of the festival live from a professional camera onto both its Periscope  and Twitter accounts @DubaiFilm

●     Twitter Mirror

○     Celebrities participating at DIFF will be able to take selfies by tapping the mirror’s screen, and the image is then sent out to @DubaiFilm which can be viewed by fans from across the globe who would in turn be able to interact with the stars and share live comments

●     Twitter Q&A

○     Celebrities will take part in Q&As on Twitter where fans can post questions from a specified hashtag to receive video responses

●     Twitter Couch

Twitter will host an indoor area at the festival that will include the following activities: 

○     Influencers will be doing live interviews with celebrities, and the content will be shared on @DubaiFilm

●     OrcaVue (a technology that revolves video cameras in a 360 degree view)

○     As the first partner event to use the technology in the MENA region, OrcaVue will be used on the red carpet to take 360 degree videos of celebrities and moviegoers that will be posted on Twitter
