Dubai, United Arab Emirates: A delegation from Dubai Department of Finance (DOF) visited Dubai Land Department (DLD) and the Rental Disputes Center (RDC) to view the services provided by both entities during their participation in ‘A Week Without Service Centres’ initiative between 21st – 25th October, 2018.

HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD; HE Juma bin Humaidan, Deputy Director General of DLD; and a number of senior officials at DLD welcomed the visiting delegation, which included HE Abdulrahman Al Saleh, Director General of DOF; ​​​Mohammed Al Shehi, Deputy Director General of DOF; and a number of CEOs at DOF.

DLD employees provided a detailed explanation of the smart real estate services provided to customers through the Dubai REST platform, which includes certificates of owned properties (to whom it may concern), title deeds, property valuations, and map requests, as well as filing first instance lawsuits, filing disputes for amicable settlements, lawsuit inquiries, a Rental Good-Conduct Certificate, requests to register and renew Ejari Contracts, a rental increase calculator, Ejari contract cancellations, project status tracking services, and real estate services trustees. DLD’s customers may also apply for a course at the Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) through the institute’s website.

Bin Mejren said: “We are pleased to participate in this vital initiative launched by DOF for the second consecutive year. The DOF delegation was briefed on our several achievements that support Dubai’s digital transformation. DLD has been developing digital applications and services over the past few years that are being widely accepted and welcomed by all our customers. The relevant teams continue to successfully achieve our goals that are in line with the vision of Smart Dubai to transform the Emirate into the happiest and smartest city in the world.”

HE Judge Abdulqader Mousa, Director of RDC, commented: “During the visit, we focussed on presenting the tremendous developments we achieved in the field of real estate litigation, where we explained the mechanism of registering first instance lawsuits and dispute proceedings. We also explained how customers can pay fees through the smart payment gateway, and highlighted the court probe CP1. This innovative, first-of-its-kind concept impressed our guests, especially as it was enhanced by the latest technologies to provide unprecedented services in the field of real estate litigation. Through CP1, customers may file reconciliation cases, first instance lawsuits, dispute proceedings, and enforcement proceedings. Customers may also file for enforcement proceedings through RDC’s website or smart application.”

At the end of the visit, the DOF delegation praised DLD’s initiatives that are launched to prepare customers for the smart digital transformation and encourage them to use the electronic payment system through smart channels. This allowed DLD to be in the list of most prominent government entities, thereby supporting the vision of our wise leadership. The delegation thanked DLD and RDC for supporting the ‘A Week Without Service Centres’ initiative.
