Dubai: As its appeal to landlords in the UAE continues to grow, Urban, a leading proptech platform which takes the entire rental journey online, announces that it has entered into an agreement with Dubai Asset Management to digitise leasing.

After just a few months of launch, the partnership underlines the increased appetite from leading real estate players to take the rental journey online and expands Urban’s listings of high-quality homes across some of Dubai’s most preferred communities including Shorooq, Ghoroob, Layan, Remraam, and Dubai Wharf, among others. Dubai Asset Management, renowned as a full-service real estate asset management company and member of Dubai Holding, will list 400 properties in total on the Urban platform.

Commenting on the announcement, Rashid Al Ghurair, CEO and founder of Urban, said: “Partnering with Dubai Asset Management is a major milestone in our journey to transform the real estate landscape in Dubai. We have focused on individual landlords to date, but with such a real estate heavyweight coming on board, this is a game changer. Whether you’re a first-time homeowner, or an institutional landlord, our offer is compelling and suits all property sizes. We are excited to have Dubai Asset Management as our partner and look forward to building on our relationship as Urban continues to grow.”

As with every listing on the platform, Dubai Asset Management will see each of its properties thoroughly inspected, cleaned, professionally photographed, and showcased through immersive virtual tours. Renters can also visit homes on their own via secure digital locks, submit paperwork through the app and have access to unparalleled support.

Apart from listing properties, collecting rent, and vetting tenants, Urban also provides landlords with its property management service. This includes maintenance support, tenant management and access to its legal team in the event of any disputes or defaults.

Arif Mubarak, CEO of Dubai Asset Management, said: “Dubai Asset Management has been an early adopter of integrated digitalisation in the real estate sector - through our own Dubai AM Life app, as well as our collaboration with Smart Dubai to launch the first fully integrated digital rental experience in Dubai. The drive to enhance digital platforms and processes is in line with our sustained efforts to simplify interactions throughout the customer journey towards adding value and enhancing customer happiness. We look forward to our partnership with Urban that we believe will broaden our digital reach and ensure further transformation across Dubai’s real estate sector.”

About Urban

Launched in February 2020, Urban is the way for tenants to discover, visit and rent their new homes – all online. It’s reinventing the rental experience by empowering tenants like never before with virtual tours of inspected homes, visits with just their phone and monthly payments.

From a landlord perspective, Urban’s technology helps landlords list properties in their best light, lease them out in a whole new way, and collect rent online.

Urban was developed entirely in the region by a team who shared the frustrations of renters, and with the support of Rashid Al Ghurair, took on the challenge of making the experience of renting joyful rather than painful.
