• Global recognition achieved for DarkMatter’s test and validation facility, which becomes first in the MENA region to obtain the newly published international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited by the prestigious A2LA organisation

Abu Dhabi: xen1thLabs, the leading cyber security test and validation lab in the MENA region, today announced that it has achieved its accreditation as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for testing laboratories.

This accreditation brings enhanced quality assurance to xen1thLab’s in-depth cyber security testing services in the field of mobile communications and infrastructure, offered to national and international commercial entities, governments and infrastructure operators. The accreditation aligns with the newly published international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017, which provides a stronger process orientation along with the implementation of risk-based discipline. No other cyber security test laboratory in the region has obtained this accreditation to date.

As a wholly-owned commercial subsidiary of the DarkMatter Group, xen1thLabs’ primary goal is to formally test and validate the security of Information Technology (IT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Information Communications Technology (ICT) environments, across products, components and modules under its scope of accreditation using approved test methods. xen1thLabs’ initial scope of accreditation is wide and includes mobile vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, 3GPP general security testing, wireless local area network security testing and mobile device security testing.

Eddie Schwartz, Executive Vice President of Cyber Services at DarkMatter Group, said: “Attaining this ISO 17025 accreditation is another milestone for the DarkMatter Group and for xen1thLabs as we constantly strive to be at the forefront of global test standards. We’re already delivering leading-edge cyber security vulnerability test and validation work from the UAE and this ISO accreditation will allow us to expand those services even further, ensuring we can offer our advanced lab services to a wider global audience across the public and private sectors.”

“Confidence in technology products is enhanced if customers know the products have been thoroughly tested for security vulnerabilities by an independent, competent testing facility. Through internationally accepted testing and measurement practices, data generated by accredited laboratories such as xen1thLabs will lead to the easier acceptance of exported goods in overseas markets.”

With its globally recognised workforce, state-of-the art technology and now an internationally accredited process, xen1thLabs is positioned to become one of the leading cyber test labs, able to offer comprehensive services that address a vast spectrum of cyber security needs.  Going forward, when xen1thLabs conducts work covered under the accreditation, it will include the ILAC-A2LA combined symbol on test reports and certificates.
