Dubai: Recognized as one of the top countries in the world for the quality of its education programs, Canada’s participation in Expo’s Knowledge & Learning Week will offer insight into the exceptional study opportunities the country offers, and shine a spotlight on its innovative contributions to global education.
The Expo’s Knowledge & Learning Week, running from 12th to 18th December 2021, features several activities in which Canada will participate, including the ReWirED Summit, a global conference focused on redefining education to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for all, and the “Women in STEM’’ art exhibit displayed outside of the Canada Pavilion, that celebrates their contribution to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Canada’s Expo 2020 theme “The Future in Mind” provides a platform to highlight the country’s credentials at all levels of education, and the reasons for which it is chosen as a study destination by more than half a million international students annually. Canada’s higher education system ranks 7th in the world, with more than 16,000 university and 8,000 college programs offered across the country.
During the week, the Canada pavilion will launch its second exposition - Women in STEM - in collaboration with Canada's Museums of Science and Innovation highlighting the leadership of Canadian women innovators, researchers and scientists throughout history, and their greatest contributions to date in resolving pressing challenges like cancer research, Arctic issues, climate change, and accessibility rights. The exhibit also celebrates the human diversity within Canada’s STEM fields and Canadian society at large.
With more than 250 ethnic origins and 200 languages from around the world along with 60 Indigenous languages spoken, Canada welcomes international students to its open, stable, safe, and culturally diverse and inclusive society that allows equitable opportunities for all.
Canada’s leadership in online and distance education also positioned it well to navigate the global disruption to education, from kindergarten to post graduate studies, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The past 15 years have seen significant growth in the number of Middle Eastern students choosing to complete their education in Canada. From K-12 studies to language schools, colleges and universities, students find quality education across all levels. With eight universities in the top tier of international rankings, the cost of university education in Canada is affordable. Canada continues to grow as the preferred choice for tens of thousands of students from across the Middle East, who appreciate the value added of an internationally recognized education in broadening career opportunities.
