Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has announced the start of its remote work system implementation.

Gulf Air affirmed its keenness to implement all the decisions issued by the kingdom in order to unify national efforts to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The application of the remote work system in the national carrier will depend on the nature of the work, the size of the various departments in it, and based on the special needs of its employees such as working mothers, people with chronic diseases and the elderly; in addition to adopting the recycling system when needed in some departments.

"Due to exceptional circumstances, this may require the partial use of annual employee leave so that the carrier can reduce the daily attendance of employees to conduct their business at headquarters, thus contributing to the containment and prevention of the spread of the coronavirus between the carrier's employees and their families," the carrier said in a statement.

Gulf Air stated that it has taken all precautionary measures and preventive measures to ensure the safety and security of citizens and residents in Bahrain, and the safety and security of all its employees, as they are an important asset, and their health is an integral part of its priorities and responsibilities. - TradeArabia News Service
