Bahrain - The first media co-operation agreement between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will be signed this week in Bahrain.

Saudi Journalists Association chairman Khalid bin Hamad Al Malek along with six editors-in-chief of local daily newspapers and top media officials in the kingdom will visit Bahrain on Wednesday to announce joint training programmes for Bahraini and Saudi journalists.

Details were revealed by Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) president Ahdeya Ahmed in a statement yesterday. 

“The agreement to be signed comes in the context of co-operation with our brothers in order to train journalists of the two countries in the latest methods that will enable them to enhance their capabilities, taking into account the developments in Bahrain,” she said. 

“The agreement will mark the beginning of a new phase of co-operation and exchange of experience and participation in all that would improve the Press and journalists in both the countries.”
