Area of licensed buildings up by 34.5% in first 2 months of 2021: Jordan's DoS

AMMAN The total area of licensed buildings in the first two months of 2021 reached some 1.305 million square metres, compared with 970,000 square metres during the same period of 2020, marking a 34.5 per cent increase, the Department of Statistics (DoS) announced on Monday.

The area of housing buildings totalled 1.145 million square metres in the January-February period of 2021, compared with some 832,000 square metres in the same period last year, registering a hike of 37.6 per cent, the DoS said as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The department added that the number of licences went up by 38.1 per cent from 1,763 in the first two months of 2020 to 3,385 licenses in the corresponding period of 2021.
