Acer offered attendees exclusive access to never seen before products, set to launch in the UAE in Q4 and Q1 2019

Dubai, UAE: Acer, the multinational electronics corporation, today hosted its annual press conference at The Lounge in Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue, announcing financial results in the region, as well as outlook for 2019. At the event, Acer also showcased its latest products, set to launch in the UAE, including the Chromebook 514, Swift 3, Helios 300, Swift 5 and the all new Predator XB27 Monitor.

Acer announced its consolidated global revenues for August 2018 at a NT$22.36 billion, up 11.5% year-on-year. Locally in the UAE, Acer’s revenue grew 15% year-on-year. Key attributes for success include revenues from Acer’s Chromebook collection, gaming line and the ultra-thin portfolio. The Chromebook collection holds a 48% market share in the Middle East[1]. Globally, gaming products grew by 61% year-on-year, with desktop gaming holding a 38% market share in the UAE[2]. The Ultra-thin portfolio’s annual sales grew by 45% globally, with a 139% sales increase in the UAE.

“Customers are demanding far more from their personal machines now, they want convergence, it must meet a multitude of needs to be considered for purchase. A computer must be, thin, light, stylish and powerful, or be able to perform light gaming, video and rendering tasks, or finally be able to meet a child’s schoolwork needs without being so heavy to be a burden on developing bodies,” commented Paul Collins, MEA General Manager at Acer.

“This is typical of a highly mature market and Acer has been driving this strategy for a number of years now. We are pleased to see that this is borne out by our success rates in the Gaming and Thin & Light segments, where we lead some sectors in both the UAE and KSA. We will proudly drive this strategy into business now as their buying patterns turn more to BYOD or BYODD (bring your own designated device), whilst leading the consumer segments as well. A lot of exciting new products are coming in 2019.”

Chromebook 514

Acer launches its new Acer Chromebook 514. The combination of a metallic chassis, backlit keyboard, Corning Gorilla Glass touchpad, USB Type-C and a 12-hour battery life gives the new product a superior look and feel. The Chromebook 514 will be available in MEA in November, starting at AED 1,469.

Swift 3

A sleek & classy metal finish form with diamond cut finish, the 14” Swift 3 is a perfect companion throughout the day to take on whatever the day brings. The ultra-design makes it easy to carry, while what’s inside offers up maximized performance necessary for the modern style (latest CPU generation, FHD IPS screen, Fingerprint, Backlight keyboard, dedicated graphics, 12H battery life and much more). The Swift 3 will be available in MEA in October, starting at AED 2899.

The rapid refresh rate shortens frame rendering time and lowers input lag to give gamers an excellent in-game experience. It’s powered by up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ processor, overclockable GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, up to a 512 GB PCIe Gen 3 NVMe solid state drive, and up to a 2 TB hard disk drive. The Helios 300 will be available in MEA in September, starting at AED 7,999.

Swift 5

Weighing just 970 grams, the elegant Swift 5 (SF514-52T) combines ultimate portability with smooth usability. The product features the latest 8th gen Intel Core processors, a 14” 1920x1080 FHD IPS touchscreen, strategically placed 802.11ac wireless antenna and 2x2 MIMO & Microsoft Windows pro option. Predator Orion Desktop Family

The Predator Orion Desktop Family offers everything a gaming heart desires. The latest processors & graphics are displayed in sharply defined angles, silhouetted against a shale black metal house, with an unbeatable air flow management technology ICE tunnel 2.0, that utilizes the case design by separating the thermal zones in order to maximize cooling where most needed. The Desktop Family will be available in MEA in October, starting at AED 11,299.

Predator X27 Monitor

Acer’s Predator X27 portrays astonishingly vibrant visuals without motion blur, thanks to a high 4K (3840x2160) resolution at a 144 Hz refresh rate, a fast 4ms response time and a 1,000 nit peak brightness. Featuring Acer HDR Ultra technology, the product offers the best possible contrast quality of the high dynamic range with advanced LED local dimming in 384 individually-controlled zones, that shine light only when and where it is required. With Quantum Dot Technology, the Predator X27 Monitor covers a luminance range several times greater than that of traditional dynamic range monitors. By dimming the backlight behind parts of the screen displaying black, blacks appear deeper and darker on those parts of the panel, a significant bonus for people who play games with darker scenes.
