Abu Dhabis aluminium trade hits $272mln in two months

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The total value of aluminium trade in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi increased to around AED 1 billion during January and February.

The emirate’s aluminium trade accounted for 4.2% of its total non-oil trade in the first two months of 2018, according to the Statistics Centre of Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

In 2017, aluminium trade in the UAE’s capital and biggest sheikhdom recorded over AED 5.4 billion.

Earlier in May, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) announced that its all-time cast metal production has reached over 30 million tonnes, which equal 60 times the weight of 60 Burj Khalifa.
