Günaydın was created by butchers starting in 1965 as a small artisan butcher shop in Istanbul’s historic 'Bostanci' neighbourhood and now has 40 restaurants in Turkey alone. Known for high-quality meats, innovation and larger-than-life co-founder, Chef Cüneyt Asan who has specialised in butchery for more than 40 years, earning his titles of ‘The Professor of Meat’ and ‘The World’s Fastest Butcher’! Günaydın has grown to become Turkey’s favorite Steak and Kebab House with over 40 branches in Turkey alone with international locations in major cities such as Dubai.
The project in Bahrain is a joint venture with the well-established Remza Investment Company owners of the Nasser pharmacy group and many major real estate projects and malls.
Entering the towering doors of Günaydın Bahrain diners are met with fresh meat cabinets and butchers, ready to explain the outstanding selection of specially aged meat and traditional Turkish recipes. Tested by Günaydın meat experts, the beef is the highest-grade, world-famous Halal Australian Black Angus, flown especially for Günaydın on a weekly basis (chilled never frozen) while the Arabian Syrian Nuaimi Lamb is the most expensive and rarest and highest quality and is butchered freshly in Bahrain exclusively for Gunaydin. Specialty Turkish cold cuts, cheeses, spices, dry fruits and specialty Turkish Ice-cream and all other ingredients are imported directly from Turkey.
Günaydın's large open kitchen and unique Turkish Grill is theatre in itself. Dishes can be observed from selection at the butcher counter to the heat of the waiting Chef, to the waiter, table and finally the plate with pure Turkish showmanship at every step!
Two majestic dining rooms transport diners back to the roaring 20’s Art Deco Europe with a nod to opulent Istanbul Palaces. The front dining room is flooded with natural light streaming through elegant arched windows. Beautifully marbled floors and stately green columns softened by tall fingered palm trees.
By contrast, the smokers dining quarters twinkle with a display of moody, gold leaf, brass, buttery leathers and exotic woven fabrics. Once inside you will never want to leave.
The menu is comprehensive covering a wide range of beef steaks, lamb dishes, kebabs and extensive range of hot and cold mezzes, doner, pide (Turkish distinctive pizzas) and special Turkish bread, baked freshly in the traditional clay oven. To finish an outstanding meal , you can finish it with original Gaziantep Baqlava flown fresh weekly or freshly baked katmir rolled in Turkish dondurma (specialty ice-cream)
