Dubai: The Co- Dubai, one of the first incubators and co-working spaces to be certified by Dubai SME, is announcing a one-day Young Entrepreneurship Program set to take place on 12 October, in Downtown Dubai.

Aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs aged 14-18, the day-long session aims to not only inspire the UAE’s future business leaders, but also provide hands-on training in topics that include how to launch a business, and the basics of website development. Alumni from universities that include Stanford and UC Berkeley will also be on-hand to provide practical advice on admissions to these and other top-tier international universities.

According to Shahzad Bhatti, Founder and Owner of The Co- Dubai, the organizers of the event, the future of work demands a new skill set: “Whether young people have entrepreneurial aspirations or would like to work within a start-up, or even within a more established organization, changes in the way we work mean that our future workforce must be not only more technologically savvy than ever before, but also be more entrepreneurial, creative and more willing - and able- to put ideas into action. This workshop aims to introduce both the technological and human skills required of a young entrepreneur to an audience that is has generally been under-serviced in terms of practical entrepreneurial education, teenagers.”

Taking place on Saturday, 12 October at The Co- Dubai’s offices in downtown Dubai, the program will be limited to 20 participants and cost 420 AED per person inclusive of VAT.  Starting at 11:00 and running until 15:00, it will include sessions entitled “How to Launch Your First Business”, “College Counselling”, “Introduction to Web Development” as well as two networking refreshment breaks.

This new program follows The Co- Dubai’s successful Dubai SME Summer Exchange program which took place in August and saw 10 UAE based entrepreneurs gather at The Co-‘s Dalston, London location for 5 days filled of training on topics that include how to launch and grow a global business and how to develop a global strategy.
