Manama, Bahrain: In line with its overall strategy aimed at promoting the Kingdom of Bahrain as an ideal MICE destination, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) participated in the annual IMEX 2019 which was held at the Messe Frankfurt in Germany from 21 to 23 May 2019. The exhibition is one of the world's most important trade fair in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry where international tourism offices, major hotels, exhibition and conventions venues, cruise lines, airlines, technology providers, MICE professionals and many more meet every year.
The Bahrain delegation, comprised of BTEA and major hospitality and tourism companies in Bahrain, presented Bahrain’s historical touristic features and advanced infrastructure that attracted immense interest from visitors who recognized Bahrain's distinctive tourism as a unique destination for exhibitions and conferences.
“The BTEA’s participation in IMEX 2019 comes as part of our active efforts to promote Bahrain and the new Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Centre as it is expected to be completed by the middle of 2021. With the growing infrastructure development for tourism and MICE, we seek to attract large-scale international exhibitions and conventions to be hosted in Bahrain and strengthen Bahrain’s position in the industry,” said the BTEA’s Director of Exhibitions and Conferences Marketing and Promotion, Mr. Fawzi Tulefat.
The New Bahrain Exhibitions and Convention Centre was highlighted once more in this year’s IMEX series. The new Centre will be built near the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, expected to be completed in mid-2021. The new development project is planned to put Bahrain in the international arena of major choice destinations for conferences, exhibitions and major business events.
The IMEX 2019 is an ideal platform for deals and investment, bringing together over 3,500 exhibitors from over 160 countries around the world, over 250 education sessions which attract more than 15,000 visitors from over 70 countries.
