Dubai-UAE: Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, announced this week the launch of AvatarOn and Wiser at the H Hotel in Dubai, UAE.

AvatarOn is a range of revolutionary wiring devices that offers infinite design flexibility to satisfy ever-changing aesthetic tastes while meeting the practical requirements of living spaces. Wiser is a comprehensive range of connected residential solutions that converge into one open platform, to form the basis of the modern smart home.

According to the INDEX Interiors Market Report by Ventures Onsite, the interior fit-out market in the UAE is one of the GCC’s fastest growing industries and is expected to be worth US$973 million by 2022 primarily due to the commercial sector and rising number of hospitals, retail and residential projects in the country.

The AvatarOn wiring device series features a vast range of interchangeable covers that combine form and function. With its sleek design and chic minimalism, the new product introduces a mirror-smooth surface that can be printed on and is perfect for personalization of homes and other living spaces.

“AvatarOn is a winner of the prestigious iF Design Award 2017 and is specially designed with its user in mind,” said Alper Vargel, Home & Distribution Vice President, Schneider Electric. “The one-hand snap on removal allows for quick and easy changes at any time. The switch is developed with a patented “Slim Rocker, Sure Click (SS)” mechanism that redefines switch aesthetics with its signature, frameless unitary design that can match any lifestyle and integrate into any room. It also features an overall slim profile and despite a jumbo dolly, gives a softer press, flutter-free switching with durability and reliability.”

AvatarOn also comes with the option of soft LED locators that are invisible in daylight, to discreetly illuminate the exact location of each switch in the dark. Each switch can also be integrated with sensors and sound control capabilities, effectively reducing energy wastage when spaces are unoccupied for both homes of today and smart homes of the future.

Specifically referring to smart homes, a recent study stated that the Middle East smart home market revenue is expected to reach USD 1.86 billion by 2022 making it the ideal time to introduce Wiser into the market.

Wiser system provides a complete home automation solution using ZigBee3.0 technology. The system connects all lighting/curtain/HVAC/TV control devices together. So other than device local control, customer can control all devices at the same time through pushing ONE button on the mobile phone or automatically triggered by sensing or scheduling.

Now, via the features-rich and user-friendly Wiser App, users can, at the press of a button, remotely manage their energy usage and control core home functions.

“Over the past decade we have witnessed dramatic shifts in the residential sector, in terms of homeowners’ requirements and expectations,” said Mr. Vargel. “As leaders in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, we recognize that homeowners expect easy-to-install home convenience solutions that deliver comfort, control, and efficiency that simply works. We are responding to this rapidly changing market with a new range of future-proof solutions, under the Wiser brand, which are set to simplify the home living experience.”

Customers, through the app will be able to control temperature, lightning, energy and even window shutters at the touch of a button. Furthermore, preferences can also be saved so that any mood or environment can be created with the touch of a button.

“One of the biggest benefits of Wiser, is that home-owners now have real-time control not just of the appliances in their homes, but also of how energy is consumed in them,” said Mr. Vargel. “People that live in the UAE and across the region want to be more eco-conscious and also want to cut back on household expenses and with Wiser, they can do so in an easy and convenient manner.”
