Manama – BlockOn 2018, the global blockchain conference, is gearing up to welcome more than 300 global Blockchain innovators and professionals to its inaugural event focusing on “Redefining Finance” on November 22nd, 2018 at the Wyndham Grand, Bahrain Bay.

Being launched by Bahrain Fintech Bay under the patronage of H.E. Khalid Al-Rumaihi, Chief Executive, Economic Development Board (EDB) and Chairman of the Executive Board of Bahrain FinTech Bay, the conference will bring together a high level group of regulators, entrepreneurs, investors and financial industry executives to explore the rising opportunities and challenges presented by Blockchain for financial services and other industries and its many applications ranging from trading and payments to security and legal ownership.

The event will feature a series of seminars, panels, keynotes, fireside chats as well as  breakout sessions and will cover a broad range of areas including Blockchain basics, regulation, collaboration, E-KYC and future trends.

Importantly, BlockOn will also offer practical, hands on learning for participants offered through Business and Technical Track workshops developed to help executives and innovation leaders gain sufficient knowledge and better understand Blockchain in addition to training developers by conference end in the writing of Blockchain smart contracts for financial services. The workshops are being delivered in cooperation with Blockchain Academy Global, a leading FinTech education and training provider. Those registering for the Technical Track (developers) will get a chance to win enrollment into the Oxford Blockchain programme while those registering for the Business Track (c level) will get a chance to win entry into the Oxford FinTech programme. These world-class courses are run by Saïd Business School in collaboration with GetSmarter. Bahrain FinTech Bay will further present the findings of a survey it has undertaken in the run up to the event where Blockchain and other related industry professionals have provided views and predictions on the evolution and future for Blockchain and its adoption.
